Prevention Corner
Health is in the air
The Prevention Corner is a free, innovative service, offered by Autostrade per l'Italia in collaboration with the Italian Red Cross. It offers lorry drivers the chance to have a free health check-up in a highwayService Area.
In the Prevention Corner, drivers can:
- measure their own basic physiological parameters: maximum and minimum blood pressure levels, cardiac frequency and partial oxygen pressure in the blood;
- carry out main blood tests: a PSA test to check their prostate (a professional lorry driver disease), blood sugar, total cholesterol, HDL and LDL and triglycerides;
- have a spirometry and electrocardiogram

A4 towards Milan (148.4 km), in the building (Autogrill/Eni) - CANTAGALLO OVEST
A1 towards south (Km 198,9), in the building (Autogrill)
In the next future Prevention Corner will be extended on highways with the highest levels of heavy goods traffic.
The service is available 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, throughout the year, with the on-site assistance of qualified Italian Red Cross personnel.
The initiative, undertaken with the ANAS Ispettorato Vigilanza Concessioni Autostradali (IVCA) (inspectorate supervising highway concessions), with commercial partners Autogrill, Eni, Esso, is also promoted by the Central Committee of the National Register of Lorry Drivers and the main Consortia (Fai, Contir, Fitalog and Consap).
