ASPI: STARTUP, MOVYON AND ELIS LAUNCH THE ARGO INNOVATION LAB PROJECT.
A PROJECT CONCEIVED FOR INNOVATIVE COMPANIES, UNIVERSITIES AND RESEARCH CENTERS, WHICH ALLOWS THE DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS FOR INFRASTRUCTURE SAFETY AND SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY TO PURSUE OPEN INNOVATION.
Rome, 27 May 2021: Argo Innovation Lab is now online. A platform promoted by MOVYON and ELIS Innovation HUB that calls on universities, research centers or groups, startups, and companies in order to develop ideas and projects for technological solutions, in the context of sustainable mobility and infrastructure safety.
Those wishing to join will be required to propose project ideas concerning infrastructure monitoring, design and maintenance, safety and ideal traffic conditions of the motorway network and environmental sustainability, forecasting models for the analysis and management of data, performance, surveillance, and organization of construction sites. The project allows to cover the innovation needs of the Autostrade per l'Italia group, by creating real opportunities to ensure an open innovation capable of putting together the top experts in the context of national research. The challenges will be shared in a call for ideas that will allow MOVYON to identify proposals and talents. In the first session of the program, until 12 July 2021, the platform will collect all applications; a dedicated jury will then select the best proposals to be developed through a two-phase approach: 4 months for the creation of prototypes and feasibility studies, 8 months for their field tests.
MOVYON, a technological spin-off of Autostrade per l'Italia, will work as "incubator" in this context, by supporting the companies selected in implementing their ideas and financially supporting, if necessary, the development of the projects. To test such ideas, it will also provide the largest open-air laboratory in Europe: the three thousand kilometer motorway network managed by ASPI.
ELIS Innovation Hub will manage the project through the dedicated technological platform, thus favoring the involvement of interested parties; it will also support the launch of research and development projects by providing heterogeneous work teams with a consolidated experience of collaboration between the companies and startups gained in the four editions of OPEN ITALY, the Open & Collaborative Innovation program of the ELIS Consortium.
