Impact on traffic
Impact on traffic
Autostrade per l’Italia and its subsidiaries are carrying out a major investment plan to develop and modernize the highway network.
Impact on traffic
Autostrade per l'Italia projects envisage the implementation of a series of measures to minimise the possible effects on traffic and at the same time guarantee the safety of workers and motorists alike.
Autostrade per l'Italia has also undertaken the following, in part through definition of a specific Works management protocol with the support of the Intesa Consumatori consumer federation:
- interventions for the widening of the existing highway bed take place without reducing the number of traffic lanes
- where it becomes necessary to exclude traffic from the hard shoulder, the construction of lay-bys, where vehicles may temporarily stop, is envisaged
- interventions requiring tighter restrictions or complete highway closures (flyover demolitions, etc.), are carried out during days and times of reduced traffic, with recourse to additional means and resources as and when necessary
- to provide advance notification of extraordinary road closures and indicate alternate routes (preventively shared and communicated to the municipalities concerned), through the press, the internet and other media, so as to limit, insofar as possible, any travel and residential disruption in the municipalities affected by such routes
