Cost

The 1997 ANAS Highways Convention estimated the cost of upgrading the A1 highway between Bologna Casalecchio and Barberino at 521 million, which has seen an increase of more than 50% if reference is made to the updated cost as at September 2013 (3.9 billion).

(1) Except for the electromechanical systems of the stretch, to be awarded at a later date. (2) The new Barberino junction was opened to traffic on 22.05.2007.
(3) Work on the main Marzabotto sewers, the Reno-Setta slip road and Prevam phase 1 is complete.
Work is underway on Rioveggio junction and is due to be completed in mid-2013.
Completion of the remaining work is dependant on area applications.
