Integrated reporting

Compliance with standards

We believe that Integrated Reporting will help to provide a more consistent, complete and balanced view of corporate performance over a long-term time horizon. This new instrument will, in fact, give the ability to organically provide the information necessary for measuring a company's true value, which depends on economic and financial factors but also on other factors, such as reputation, strategy, risk management and the attention to the territory.

In 2011, Autostrade per l'Italia voluntarily joined the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) Pilot programme, through its holding company, Atlantia. The aim of the programme was to develop a pilot model for integrated, economical and financial, social, environmental and governance corporate reporting. The single report will be the institutional document with the highest information potential, as it contains the necessary information and data for a comprehensive assessment of corporate performance. The document will aim to make a clear link between sustainability and economic value and the viability of the firm while highlighting existing interconnections between the environmental, social, governance and financial factors that have an impact on the corporate decision-making process and on long-term strategies.

On 7 July 2011, Autostrade per l'Italia/Atlantia hosted the first Italian IIRC on Integrated Reporting. Over 40 people, including the representatives of major Italian firms and central institutions, attended the debate which was chaired by Paul Druckman (CEO of IIRC) and saw speeches from Giovanni Castellucci (CEO of Atlantia and Autostrade per l'Italia S.p.A.) and Marco Frey (Chairman of the Global Compact Italian Network).

The International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), is a multi-stakeholder International Committee, established in 2010, that promotes dialogue between various parties in order to obtain input for the development and adoption of a globally accepted integrated reporting framework.
