A8Fiera di Milano
|Work total:||€ 86,3 million|
|Length of intervention||3,8 Km|
|Noise barriers:||560 meters|
The intervention consisted of creating a road system, of approximately 4 km in length, connecting the A8 Milano Laghi highway to the New Polo Fieristico di Milano.
The work was given the go-ahead on 30 January 2004 and was opened to traffic on 29 March 2005 with inauguration of the new Fiera Milano junction, which created road links between Rho (Fair Area) and Varese and Milan and vice versa. The work was completed in a very short time, and is a key example and model of a successful cooperation between all the Authorities involved and Autostrade per l'Italia.
Some finishing works on link roads connecting the A4 Milano-Torino and Tangenziale Ovest di Milano junctions, were completed in March 2008 (later than June 2007 as originally scheduled, due to delays in approving road work sites on the part of the Province of Milan).
