AUTOSTRADE PER L'ITALIA: WEB-BASED PLATFORM FOR VOLUNTARY ASSOCIATIONS, READY AS OF 12 JUNEWEB-BASED PLATFORM FOR VOLUNTARY ASSOCIATIONS, READY AS OF 12 JUNE
The new service will be active from 2 July, the date of the expiry of the old agreements
Rome, June 24, 2014 - Highways for Italy pointed out that it is ready by 12 June, the web platform - presented at the same time ANPAS and Italian Misericordia charities - dedicated to the voluntary associations that provide emergency services. The platform will go live on 2 July, the date on which the previous agreements expire.. Associations will be able to easily access the platform to certify exempt journeys via the internet.
As announced on several occasions in recent months, Autostrade per l'Italia will provide Telepass free of charge to all voluntary associations that provide emergency services in exchange for the undertaking to provide self-certification as regards the nature of the journeys, within the meaning of law. This will also prevent misuse of the service.
Autostrade per l'Italia again points out that the law expressly provides that Italian Red Cross vehicles be exempt from the payment of tolls, while for Voluntary Associations such exemption is only applicable to the rescue vehicles used in performing the emergency service.
